About DuAnn, Cora & Berett
I am passionate about my role as a relationship counselor and have long taken great satisfaction in assisting couples and individuals to increase their life satisfaction and resolve their challenges with partner and therapy support.
As a couple therapist, some of my happiest moments are when a couple grows trust in their bond. It is so rewarding helping couples create closeness and connection that they are wanting from their bond. Life changes for the better when the bond is stronger.
As an individual therapist, I love helping clients clarify their concerns and collaborating in creating an individual plan of growth.
I have been married for over 30 years and my husband and I have an adopted daughter and family that we cherish. I live with lots of different relationship dynamics with my blended and growing family and enjoy the adventure that they bring me. One of my greatest joys is being with my dog and human family, exercising or exploring.
Training and Experience:
I primarily use experiential therapy, integrating a variety of approaches to gently move beyond conversation alone and support meaningful, lasting results.
I am Pre-Certified in Emotionally Focused Therapy by ICEEFT. (International Centre for Excellence in Emotionally Focused Therapy)
I am trained in Internal Family Systems (IFS)
I am trained in EMDR – and often combine EMDR, EFT, and IFS..
I often incorporate my specialty-trained dogs into sessions and find it incredibly rewarding to see the positive, and healing impact they have on clients.
I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist in the state Idaho, and soon in Florida.
I have a Master’s Degree in Marriage and Family Therapy from Northcentral University, and a Bachelor of Science Degree from University of Washington, Seattle.
I have experience in a variety of settings which include online/telehealth therapy, office-based therapy, and boarding home family therapy.
Currently I offer in person therapy in Priest River and telehealth therapy for couples, individuals and families.
Cora - Cora is a Black Russian Terrier who loves to swim and travel. In the therapy room, Cora gravitates to people who are having trouble feeling. Cora’s nickname in the therapy room is “the shell cracker” because sooner or later, you can’t help but let your walls down around her.
Berett- Berett is a Standard Poodle who is currently in training to hunt water and land fowl. Berett is still in training in the therapy room, but his predecessor Remington’s (pictured above) specialty was immense sympathy, and using his body weight to co-regulate with clients when they need it most.
